In the Christian faith, “the end of all things” refers to eschatological events. This is an important topic covered in the Bible and includes a series of events related to the end of the world, the second coming of Jesus Christ, the final judgment, and the coming of the new heaven and new earth. Several parts of the Bible address this topic, and the key elements will be explained in detail here.

1. The Second Coming of Jesus Christ

  • Promise of the Second Coming : The New Testament promises that Jesus Christ will come again. Before Jesus ascended to heaven, he promised his disciples that he would come again.
    • John 14:3: “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.”
    • Acts 1:11: “And they said to him, Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing into heaven? For this Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
  • Type of Second Coming : The second coming of Jesus will be in a visible way. Everyone will see him.
    • Matthew 24:30: “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds with power and great glory.”

2. The Great Tribulation

  • Time of Tribulation : The Bible speaks of a time called the “Great Tribulation.” This is a time of extreme suffering and confusion in the world.
    • Matthew 24:21: “For then there will be great tribulation, such as was not from the creation of the world until now, nor ever will be.”

3. The appearance of the Antichrist

  • Antichrist : In the end times, the Antichrist will appear and deceive many people. He will perform false miracles and signs and claim to be God.
    • 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4: “Let no one deceive you, for that day will not come unless there comes a falling away first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and is called a god. He exalts himself above everything that is called or worshiped, and sits in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.”

4. The Last Judgment

  • Judgment Day : When Jesus returns, all mankind will face the final judgment. Each person will be judged according to his or her works.
    • Revelation 20:11-12: “And I saw a great white throne, and Him who sat on it, from before whom the earth and the heaven fled away, and there was no place for them. And I looked, and I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before the throne. And another book was opened, the book of life, and the dead were judged according to what was written in the books.”

5. New Heaven and New Earth

  • New Creation : After the Final Judgment, God will create a new heaven and a new earth. This means a perfect state without sin and suffering.
    • Revelation 21:1-4: “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, and the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It was prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and God will be with them; and they will be God’s people, and God himself.” He will be with them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, neither will mourning, nor crying, nor pain, for the former things have passed away.”

conclusion

From a Christian eschatological perspective, the end of all things consists of the second coming of Jesus Christ, the great tribulation, the appearance of the Antichrist, the final judgment, and the arrival of the new heaven and new earth. This is the time when God finally judges all evil and gives eternal life and blessings to his people. Believers must believe in these promises and live with a prepared mind.
